W.A.S.P.
The heavy metal outfit WASP formed in Los Angeles in the early eighties and became popular because of their stage shows, which included mock-torturing an almost naked model and throwing raw meet into the audience, and because of hit songs like “Animal (F**k Like a Beast)”. WASP (an acronym for “White Anglo-Saxon Protestant”, which translates to run-of-the-mill in the USA) also made headlines when they were attacked by the P.M.R.C. (Parent’s Music Resource Centre) because of the sexist lyrics their first two albums, their 1984 self-titled debut and 1985’s “The Last Command”, offered plenty of.
