Type O Negative

Sounding like a somewhat strange mixture of 60’s band Herman’s Hermits and Nirvana Weezer appeared on the scene in 1994 with their eponymous debut, later dubbed the “Blue Album”. Hits like “Undone – the Sweater Song” or “Buddy Holly” proved that singer and main songsmith Rivers Cuomo not only looked like a rock version of Woody Allen but also was a superb writer. The dark and messy sounding album “Pinkerton” followed, showing just how brilliant the group really was. Still – after years of doubt it took the band until 2001 to resurface with another self-titled record, again selling like crazy.
