Slayer

Slayer picked up where Venom left off and went straight to hell, taking the next couple generations of metal with them.
Slayer's first few records were met with horror and fear by the general public. It seemed metal had finally gone too far.
Public Enemy sampled "Angel of Death" (from Reign In Blood) in their song, "She Watch Channel Zero."
Slayer formed in the Huntington Beach area of L.A. in 1982.
The name of the band came from the movie "Dragonslayer." They cut off the "dragon" because they thought it sounded too corny.
