Known for the dark curly hair blocking his face, Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash formed Slash's Snakepit as G N' R were working on a follow-up to the "Use Your Illusion" albums. Tensions were brewing over the bands direction. Slash wanted to stick with hard rock, while frontman Axl Rose was interested in industrial sounds. The first incarnation of Snakepit included members of Alice in Chains, Jellyfish and Guns N' Roses and made "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" in 1995. Slash finally left G N' R and gave Snakepit a new lineup. They released "Ain't Life Grand" in 2000 and supported AC/DC on tour.
