Skinny Puppy
Early 80's avant-garde industrial pioneers Skinny Puppy were formed in Vancouver, Canada. Their main influences were art punk minimalists such as Suicide, Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle. The most formulated work of the trio appeared between 1986 and 1990, before various side and solo projects began to pull the band apart and serious drug abuse became a problem. Still, in '93 Skinny Puppy signed with American Recordings, but work on a new album was stalled by the heroin death of keyboardist Dwayne Goettel. They re-formed in 2004.
