Starting in Birmingham, Alabama, Remy Zero's poetic alt-rock dared to be different from the mainstream. While in high school the band sent demos to local radio stations attracting the attention of Geffen Records. In 1996, their self-titled album was released without much notice. Their follow-up "Villa Elaine" ('98) hailed them as a young U2. The band stayed out of sight until '01 when "Golden Hum" was released, including the single "Save Me", which became the theme song for the TV show "Smallville". Remy Zero disbanded to pursue solo projects.
