Ray Stevens found a niche in novelty songs after attempts at songwriting and session work didn't pan out.
Stevens started playing piano at the age of six and formed his first band, the Barons, at 15.
His first hit was "Jeremiah Peabody's Poly-Unsaturated Quick Dissolving Fast Acting Pleasant Tasting Green and Purple Pills."
From 1991-93, Stevens had his own theater in Branson, MO. In the span of 17 months, he performed to over 1,600,000 people.
