Oum Kalthoum
Egyptian artist, Oum Kalthoum is acknowledged to have been one of the best Egyptian singers of her time. Her career spanned many decades as she became a popular musical icon in Egypt and the Middle East. Only a handful of her recordings still exist. A number of these have been re-released on the album "The Lady". Put out on the Buda Musique label in 2003, the album has delighted Kalthoum fans. Her exceptional skills and the beauty of her voice are evident on songs like "Ya Laylet El-Id Insitina" and "Kayfa Marat Ala Hawaka Al Kouloub".
