A hugely influential gangsta squad, N.W.A. changed the game with their over-the-top rhymes and Dre's fiery production.
After learning of their popular anticop anthem "F*ck Tha Police," the FBI started a file on the group.
Hailing from Los Angeles, N.W.A. featured Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren, Eazy-E, and DJ Yella.
Eazy-E died of AIDS in '97. Cube and Dre still make platinum hits. Ren still records regularly, and Yella produces pornos.
N.W.A.'s first release, "N.W.A. and the Posse" (1987), also featured the D.O.C. and Arabian Prince.
