Michael Schenker Group
The Michael Schenker Group was formed by the German guitar player Michael Schenker in 1981. Schenker, a self-taught guitar legend, was born on January 10, 1955 in Savstedt, Germany. He joined his older brothers band The Scorpions in the early 70´s at the age of 17. After stints with the Scorpions and UFO, he decided to go solo. In 1981 the group released “MSG”, followed in 1982 by “Assault Attack” and “One Night at Budokan”. They enjoyed mild early success, but its popularity eventually faded due to, among other things, a constantly revolving group of musicians.
