Leon Redbone
Leon Redbone first appeared as a ragtime, blues and jazz singer in Toronto, Canada, in the 70's. As he refused to divulge any information about his personal life, little is known about the man himself, though always recognizable by a fedora and sunglasses. Influenced by Bing Crosby, Jelly Roll Morton and others, Redbone cut his first record "On the Track" in 1976. After making several appearances on "Saturday Night Live", the 1977 LP "Double Time" hit the US Top 40 charts. After the 70's Redbone focused less on recording albums and more on a career as a minor celebrity starring in TV ads.
