Born Khaled Hadj Brahim in 1960 in Sidi-El-Houri, Algeria, Khaled was the right man at the right time to revolutionize the Algerian desert blues known as Raï. Teaching himself how to play guitar and accordion Khaled has been traveling as a musician since his teens. In the 80's, he met producer Rachid Baba Ahmed who was experimenting with electronic sounds blended into the traditional form. Moving to Paris in 1986, he already had his reputation working for him, and with the release of his first big hit, "Didi", he became Raï's first superstar.
