A long-time London resident and respected Jamaican roots singer, Junior "Jooks" Delgado rose to fame in the late 70's and early 80's, following his hit "Merry-Go-Round", initially released on Sly and Robbie's label Taxi. The Kingston native, born Oscar Hibbert, got his start in the group Time Unlimited, but went solo in 1975. He put out his debut "Taste of the Young Heart" in 1978, in which year he also founded the label Incredible Jux. On later albums he experimented with disco and other trends, while remaining close to his roots. "Sons of Slaves" was released following his 2005 death.
