Joe Diffie is a new traditional country singer/songwriter who pens and performs toneful and twangy workingman's anthems. When Joe Diffie was only four years old, he performed on stage with his aunt's traditional country band. As a teen Diffie played rock 'n' roll before joining a gospel quartet and then a bluegrass band named the Special Edition. While he was a striving songwriter in Nashville, Joe Diffe worked at the Gibson guitar plant, assembling and testing guitars. After Hank Thompson recorded Joe Diffie's "Love on the Rocks," he moved to Nashville and became a backing singer on demos.
