Born and raised in Dallas, Jimmie Vaughan was a founding member of the Thunderbirds. At 19 he left Dallas and moved to Austin. In 1974 he met vocalist and harmonica player Kim Wilson and formed the T-Birds, who received a label contract in 1986 from Epic/Associated and the album “Tuff Enuff” was a hit selling over a million copies and spawning the title track Top Ten hit. In 1989, Vaughan left the band and recorded a duet album with brother Stevie Ray called Family Style, issued in 1990. In 1994 he returned with his first solo album, “Strange Pleasures”. “Out There” followed in 1998.
