Southern-based Rapper Freak Nasty's self-titled debut album did not make any impression on the market upon its 1994 release. His release of the single "Da Dip" from his next album, however, proved to be a wise choice as the catchy song instantly became an underground hit, crossing over to the mainstream charts and staying there for many weeks. The full LP, "Controversee...That's Life...and That's the Way It Is" was released in the fall of 1996. "Dowhatchafeel" was issued in 1998 and "Which Way Is Up" followed in the spring of 2000.
