Echo and the Bunnymen

This Liverpool group added a Post-Punk mentality to '60s Garage Rock and came up with some of the best music of the '80s.
Bunnymen drummer Peter DeFreitas was killed in an auto accident in 1989.
"Echo" was the name given the band's drum machine during an early drummer-less version of the Bunnymen.
Echo and the Bunnymen grew out of Liverpool band the Crucial Three, which featured Ian McCulloch and Julian Cope.
McCulloch, guitarist Will Seargent, and a drum machine named Echo began writing songs in 1978.
