Brad Paisley sings new traditional country in a mature voice and plays wicked, Bakersfield country-influenced lead guitar. Paisley received his very first guitar at the young age of eight years old. He played his first performance at the age of 10. When he was 12 years old, Paisley starting writing his own songs and formed his first band. They were called the C-Notes. By playing country music in his youth, Paisley was awarded a full-paid ASCAP scholarship to Belmont University in Nashville. Although Paisley is known as a devout new traditionalist, he sometimes drops a little bit of that old country humor in songs.
