Black Keys are a guitar/drum duo dedicated to the art of blurring the lines between blues, funk and garage rock.
Guitarist/vocalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney are the Black Keys.
The Akron, Ohio, based Keys record and mix all their material themselves.
The name Black Keys came from a schizophrenic friend of theirs who described people he didn't like as "black keys."
Their breakthrough album, "Thickfreakness," was recorded in 14 hours in Patrick Carney's basement.
