Papa Roach-like Alt Metal band seemingly has more in common with Cake than with Black Sabbath. In 2002, AAF was in a serious accident in which their bus driver was killed and singer Dryden Mitchell seriously injured. Alien Ant Farm's version of Jacko's "Smooth Criminal" topped the charts in Australia and New Zealand. In 2003, guitarist Terry Corso left Alien Ant Farm to join Powerman 5000. Alien Ant Farm signed to Papa Roach's New Noize label in 1999. This led to the band's deal with DreamWorks.
